Work schedule choice: Full Time, Summers Off, or Summers Off with Optional Work Hours

Choose the schedule which best fits your lifestyle! If you're interested in summers off, we have a job for you at a nearby school system. You can work through the school year and have summers off just like school staff and students do, or you can see a few clients during the summer and earn additional pay for those services. A full-time 12-month schedule is also an option.

School-based Therapist positions involve developing relationships with school counselors, administrators and teachers, and offering individual therapy as needed to students. You may also lead group therapy sessions at the school, provide training for school staff, and offer other mental health services as requested.

Child Guidance & Family Solutions offers the therapist a wide variety of experiences not found in other settings such as private practice. We offer training in specialty therapies such as EDMR, play therapy and sand tray therapy in addition to basic treatment modalities, as well as the opportunity to work with a wide variety of diagnoses.

We are looking for licensed school-based therapists who can: 

• Work with school administration to provide appropriate services to students and school staff
• Provide an atmosphere of trust, welcome, acceptance and hope 
• Show respect for cultural differences, beliefs and values, and integrate information related to cultural traditions and values into treatment
• Conduct individual and small group counseling
• Conduct assessments and evaluations to establish appropriate treatment goals and objectives for clients
• Plan, implement and evaluate treatment plans
• Provide guidance to facilitate clients' normal growth and development, and aid in their understanding and solving of current and potential problems
• Create case notes in Epic per current standards for content and timeliness
• Demonstrate appropriate de-escalation skills

• LSW or LISW, LPC or LPCC licensure required
• Experience providing therapy to children and families preferred 
• Strong diagnostic skills and knowledge of effective behavioral intervention strategies
• Excellent communication skills and relationship-building skills
