For more than 80 years, Child Guidance & Family Solutions has been a nationally recognized leader providing innovative and effective mental health services for children, teens, adults and families. Our therapists meet you where you are – in our offices, in pediatricians’ offices, in the home, at childcare centers, and on-site in elementary, middle and high schools.

The School-Based Therapist develops relationships with school counselors, administrators and teachers, and offers individual therapy as needed to students. You may also lead group therapy sessions at the school, provide training for school staff, and offer other mental health services as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Build professional relationships with school personnel.
• Accept referrals from identified referral sources (i.e. school counselor or principal, etc.).
• Complete diagnostic assessments and develop Individual Service Plan.
• Deliver comprehensive therapy (individual and group) and CPST services to clients based on their appropriate level of care.
• Maintain regular contact with parents/guardians of clients and provide consultation for school staff regarding the mental health needs of the client.
• Collect outcomes data to monitor overall performance and effectiveness of services provided and submit required tracking information.
• Identify resources for any additional services needed by clients and provide linkage.

Required Qualifications:

• LSW, LPC, LISW or LPCC licensure and Master’s Degree required.
• Experience providing therapy to children and families preferred.
• Strong diagnostic skills and knowledge of effective behavioral intervention strategies.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
