Chicago Children's Surgery Center is Hiring a Dental Assistant Near Chicago, IL

Chicago Children's Surgery Center is seeking a Dental Assistant looking for new experiences. As a Dental Assistant you will work closely with the dentist and other dental professionals to provide high-quality dental care to our patients. You will be responsible for assisting with procedures, taking and developing x-rays, maintaining patient records, and performing other administrative duties as assigned. You will report directly to the Nurse Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including preparing the patient, setting up equipment, and handing the dentist instruments.
  • Take and develop dental x-rays as instructed by the dentist.
  • Prepare and maintain dental instruments, equipment, and supplies for use during procedures.
  • Educate patients on proper dental hygiene and care.
  • Record patient information in dental records and ensure that records are accurate and up to date.
  • Schedule appointments, answer phones, and perform other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols.
  • Maintain a clean and organized dental office environment.
  • Order and maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the dentist or office manager.

Qualifications:

  • Dental Assistant Certification/ Licensing.
  • Active Radiology license.
  • Active BLS
  • Ability to obtain ACLS within 6 months from date of hire.
  • Knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and materials.
  • Knowledge of infection control protocols and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
