We are hiring a full–time Individual Mental Health Therapist to work in our Child and Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program – New Directions.

What we do here:

In our child and adolescent partial program, the core of our service is to provide a therapeutic environment, in which children and adolescents can receive treatment for their mental health needs and at the same time complete their educational goals such that they can successfully return to their public schools and become productive members of their communities. As such, ND strives to keep children and adolescents out of higher levels of care and prevent inpatient psychiatric hospitalization and Residential Treatment Facility (RTF) placements, whenever safely possible. New Directions also serves as a step-down from inpatient hospitals or RTFs thereby shortening the length of stay in those higher levels of care. In the same building, in a separate program, New Directions operates a Pennsylvania Department of Education Licensed Private Academic School that contracts to provide education for students enrolled in the surrounding school districts.

How does this job contribute to the program?

The individual therapist will provide one on one therapy, family therapy, and participate in medication management to an assigned age range of children and adolescents at our New Directions program. Each therapist can expect to have up to 25 children/adolescents on their caseload. Therapists should expect to have at least one individual session per child/adolescent per week.

What is a typical schedule for this position?

New Directions program hours of operations are Monday through Friday 7:30am through 3:30pm.

The ideal candidate will have a PA State License as a Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, or a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

This position will require a minimum a bachelor's degree with the expectation of completing a master's degree within two years and becoming licensed therapist within an additional two years.
