Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; two years of college coursework, preferably in Therapeutic Recreation or related field and/or direct experience working with individuals with disabilities; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. First aid/CPR certification preferred. Must possess and be able to demonstrate behavior management knowledge and techniques. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.

Duties

• Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating programming
• Working with others as a team to create and successfully implement day to day schedules and programs
• Demonstrating disability and behavior management skills
• Communicating clearly to individuals and groups to explain activity steps, rules, and safety instructions to maintain an orderly activity and a safe environment
• Being able to lift and move the different equipment and supplies needed for the activity
• Maintaining the camp facilities and equipment used during the programs
• Being able to provide verbal cues for some activities of daily living if necessary
• Modifying instructions and activities
• Ensuring that all rules and safety measures are followed
• Performing other duties as required
• Taking on leadership roles as needed
• Perform other work as required

Shift

Shift varies; Monday - Friday; flexible hours between 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.; includes some evenings, weekends, and holidays
