    At the present time a vacancy exist for a Early Head Start Supervisor within the Division of Student Services of the CCIU. The Early Head Start Supervisor will provide leadership oversight and management of the Early Head Start-Child Care Partnership program in Chester, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties as well as the Home Visiting program in Chester County. The location of this position is at Gordon Early Literacy Center in Coatesville.

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Development and Family Studies, or a closely related field required.
    • Willingness to obtain the Pennsylvania Director Credential within 18 months of attaining position.
    • Experience supervising employees preferred.
    • Knowledge of operating federal grants preferred.
    • Must have Act 34, Act 151 and FBI Fingerprint clearances.
    • Must have valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
    Duties & Responsibilities:
    • Monitor all CCIU operated EHS Center-Based Programs, Child Care Partners, to ensure compliance with the Head Start Performance Standards.
    • Ensure that all families enrolled in the program meet all requirements for eligibility in accordance with the standards established under EHS.
    • Develop positive relationships with families enrolled in the program, assisting with family needs and addressing any family concerns that arise.
    • Monitor the implementation of the mental health/disabilities services in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards and other federal and state guidelines as required.
    • Monitor the comprehensive health and nutrition services for children and families that include a range of medical, dental and nutritional services and follow-up in accordance to goals and federal performance standards
    • Ensure that CCIU’s Early Head Start programs are providing appropriate educational services, including oversight of curriculum fidelity, program planning, and staff development.
    • Develop and maintain successful relationships with community partners and work collaboratively as part of the Leadership Team.
    • Provide direct supervision and leadership of EHS staff; including interviewing, hiring, training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work.
    • Supervise and evaluate assigned staff with regard to educational and administrative planning including provision of feedback that leads to positive change in performance.
    • Ensure staff follows and reinforce agency policies and state and federal law.
    • Participate in the annual program self-assessment.
    • Complete and submit all required reports on a timely manner. Perform any other duties as needed to meet the requirements and needs of the EHS grants.
    • Ensure that School Readiness goals, as developed by the CCIU and OCDEL EHS-CCP program, are embedded in all aspects of the program.
    • Assist the Supervisor of Head Start in creating and monitoring the budget.
    Schedule:
    7.5 hours per day; Monday - Friday; 260 days per year.
    Salary Range:
    Project Band 15 $65,981 to $82,477; 7.5 hours a day; 260 days a year
    Project Staff Benefits:
    • Excellent medical, prescription, vision and dental coverage at minimal cost to employee
    • If medical, prescription, vision and dental coverage is not needed, up to $10,391 in opt-out payments available
    • 1.5% of annual salary flexible benefit cash payment
    • Life insurance in amount of 2.5x annual salary paid by CCIU
    • Long-term disability insurance effective 31st day of illness/injury
    • Retirement through PSERS, PA's Public School Employees Retirement System

    • New employees start with 10 vacation days, 12 sick days, and 2 personal days annually; unlimited accumulation on vacation and sick days
    • Tuition reimbursement - 100% of 15 credits per year
