In this role, you will be responsible for leading our paid and organic digital marketing efforts across our Fitness, Sports, and Events businesses to meet our ambitious targets for growing leads and sales. As part of this goal, you will hone our marketing audience and channel strategy, ensuring that we are targeting and segmenting correctly and that all touchpoints are purposeful and relevant. You will be responsible for planning, organizing, and execution of paid digital activities. In addition, you will assess our marketing technology stack and ensure that we have the capabilities needed to continue to grow the business.This role reports to the Chief Marketing Officer, manages the work of an external agency for paid placements, and partners with the Head of Fitness and Sports Event Brand Marketing for all content and creative.As the Digital Marketing Director, you will be expected to:Essential DutiesLead and direct in the areas of marketing and media across Paid Search, SEO, Paid Social, CRO, Email Marketing, Affiliate Marketing, Referrals, Programmatic, TV, Radio, Mobile, etc.Manage marketing budgets, forecasts, P&L, forecasting, KPIs, ROIs, ROAS, etc.Create funnel plans to capture, engage, and retain buyersDetermine optimization needs based on analytics and goalsCreate and test in the areas of promos, offers, options, and various campaign types for conversionWork with external agency to assure proper alignment of strategy, execution, and goalsLead Paid Digital Marketing ActivitiesLead all paid digital marketing activities including acquisition, search, programmatic advertising, brand, retention marketing including strategy, planning, budget management and setting clear and ambitious goals and objectives for the teamTeam Agency ManagementManage 3rd party agencies and oversee all vendor and agency relationships, including scope development and continuous optimizationCollaborate with and manage the brand team's delivery of ads to support digital strategy, testing plans etc.Manage and Optimize Digital Marketing BudgetManage and optimize the impact and ROI of our overall paid digital marketing spendDesign and manage testing and optimization approachStakeholder Input and ReportingWork with Brand team, business owners, and other stakeholders on planning campaigns to meet KPIsLead analysis and associate reporting (daily, weekly) and sharing of key learningsThis is not a comprehensive list of responsibilities and can change at any time at the discretion of your supervisor.About You:You are a digital marketing expert who is also obsessed with sports and fitness. You are a proactive digital leader who is part visionary, part pragmatist, and 100% customer centric. You're best suited to this role if you are a cross-functional bridge builder and collaborator and able to work with creative marketers, IT leaders, and operational business leaders.Minimum of a Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience, plus at least 8-10 years of relevant experience.Demonstrated experience in digital advertising and marketing with a focus on acquisition marketing.Digital performance media background with expertise in Programmatic Display, Paid Social and Paid Search media. Hands on experience with Google ads platform and direct management of SEM is a required.Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed acquisition targetsDemonstrated analytic skills with the ability to compile, analyze, and leverage performance data to both identify new opportunities and optimize current campaignsMust have experience in Google marketing platforms, analytics, as well as other digital marketing and CRM platforms / toolsUnderstanding and experience in conversion rate optimization and developing and optimizing customer journey landing pagesTechnical expertise to understand technical digital marketing issues together with ability to explain them using terms a non-specialist can understandDemonstrated knowledge of and experience budgeting, planning and performance management, reporting of digital marketing teams and all the financial aspects of digital marketing, including analysis of costs/income, ROI, conversion and attrition data and all other relevant KPIsProfessional proficiency in MS Office suiteDemonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externallyDemonstrated commitment to fostering and maintaining and environment of diversity, inclusion, and belongingThis position is based at Chelsea Piers in New York, New York.Chelsea Piers is an Equal Opportunity Employer
