Position Summary
Chattanooga Allergy Clinic (CAC) is an independent allergy, asthma, and immunology practice serving pediatric and adult patients in nine locations throughout the Chattanooga and North Georgia region. The Systemedx Support Specialist directly supports the CAC providers and staff who use the Systemedx application. The purpose of the role is to educate and coach users on endorsed Systemedx workflows and best practices to support the effective, consistent capture of essential healthcare information. The Systemedx Support Specialist is functionally embedded as part of the CAC team and maintains direct and continuous contact with the end-users of the Systemedx systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Develop and deliver comprehensive, effective, and user-friendly training for existing and new Systemedx application modules, releases, features, and functionality. Evaluates and documents proficiency for all end-users on a regular basis.
2. Provide continual hands-on instruction and coaching to end-users in all CAC locations, maintaining visibility and accessibility, building relationships, and promoting communication between clinical and administrative teams to increase user satisfaction with the Systemedx application.
3. Implement strategies to improve end-user compliance with endorsed Systemedx workflows and engage with management as necessary to ensure end-user accountability.
4. Contribute to optimizing the current system, unlocking improved workflows, reducing clicks, increasing user productivity, and maximizing practice revenue within industry compliance standards.
5. Coach end-users on the relationship between accurate and thorough data capture and the reporting requirements associated with the categories listed below. Consider and address these requirements when delivering end-user training and supporting workflows.
- Patient safety.
- Operations to optimize resource utilization.
- Billing to ensure that documentation accurately reflects the services performed and that claims are supported by the documentation.
- Quality reporting to an accountable care organization, or in the alternative, pay-for-performance reporting for MIPS. Both may include clinical quality improvement initiatives and clinical data registry participation.
6. Support end-users by documenting, communicating, and mitigating workflow and process concerns. Troubleshoot reported issues to distinguish user training deficits from configuration needs and system errors requiring mitigation by Systemedx.
7. Maintain a tracking system for end-user support requests, resolve internal and training requests in a timely manner, and hold Systemedx accountable for resolving their support assignments in a timely manner.
8. Evaluate the feasibility of end-user enhancement requests and collaborate with the Director of Business Operations and the Director of Clinical Operations to prioritize recommended customizations and configuration adjustments.
9. Assist with managing planned system upgrades by
- Developing and communicating key milestones and timelines to members of management and end-users.
- Developing training materials and delivering training on new features and modified workflows to end-users.
- Conducts and coordinates testing on revisions and updates thoroughly before implementing them in the production database.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field and at least 2 years of experience supporting end-users on EHR and PM applications, or an associate’s degree with at least 5 years of experience supporting end-users on EHR and PM applications.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Experience overseeing EHR and PM system implementations and/or upgrades.
· Demonstrated working knowledge of information technology to support operations, including clinical, clerical, and billing operation workflows.
· Expertise in workflow assessments and gap analysis.
· Proficient in project management.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
