Chartiers Center is Hiring a Peer Specialist Near Pittsburgh, PA

Chartiers Center is a private, non-profit corporation funded by state, county, third party insurances and private funds. Services include intake, referral, outpatient therapy, psychiatric assessment, service coordination, substance abuse treatment, training and social rehabilitative services, crisis intervention, partial hospitalization, community outreach, day, and recreational services for adults with intellectual disabilities, homeless outreach, and housing program.

As a Peer Specialist with the Creative Recovery Program at Chartiers Center, you would promote and contribute to the development of a culture of recovery and empowerment within and outside the Agency.

Job duties include:

  • Engage individuals and support efforts to maintain and develop health and wellness through targeted social activities in our Creative Recovery Program.
  • Develop and implement structured group activities within the facility and in the community.
  • Coach individuals in managing and improving lifestyle factors which impact wellness and quality of life.
  • Provide information about recovery and wellness through provision of direct program services to individuals and groups.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school Diploma or GED and personal recovery experience
  • Peer Specialist Certification preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License Required
