Chamberlain Advisors is currently conducting an executive search for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for our direct client Coordinated Transportation Solutions. The CFO will play a pivotal role in steering CTS's financial strategies, driving operational excellence, and maintaining the highest level of customer service across all lines of business. Beyond financial acumen, the ideal candidate will demonstrate a keen understanding of the intricacies involved in transportation coordination planning, brokerage operations, urban/rural transit operations, para-transit services, provider relations, trip utilization analysis, and customer service. Coordinated Transportation Solutions seeks a strategic Chief Financial Officer to lead financial operations for its multi-state Non-Emergency Medical Transportation, Special Education Transportation, and related services across the Northeast. Overseeing budgeting, financial planning, and risk management, the CFO will collaborate with executive leadership, cultivate stakeholder relationships, and ensure alignment of financial strategies with CTS's mission of delivering reliable, safe, and cost-effective transportation solutions. The ideal candidate brings a proven financial leadership track record, a commitment to excellence, and a capacity to drive community impact through innovative transportation services.

  • Head of Finance experience for an organization or business unit: A senior executive that has successfully managed the financial activities of companies, ensuring the accuracy and timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. The role entails accountable oversight of essential finance and accounting division operations, encompassing payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. The ideal candidate possesses a demonstrated ability to drive financial excellence in the specialized fields of healthcare and transportation, aligning with the mission-driven approach to provide exceptional transportation and related services across the Northeast.
  • Significant finance functional leadership covering controllership and FP&A: A seasoned finance professional that has led core aspects of the finance function and is ready now for promotion to the CFO level. A senior executive that has ensured monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports are accurate and completed in a timely manner. Demonstrated accountability and oversight of critical finance and accounting division operating functions, payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.

What you will be accountable for:
  • Direct the meticulous preparation of a comprehensive array of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, and reports for governmental agencies.
  • Rigorously analyze and juxtapose sales and profit projections against actual figures, meticulously evaluating budgeted expenses versus realized expenses. Oversee or personally institute requisite adjustments for future projections and budgets.
  • Conduct a comprehensive review of the planning process, proactively proposing enhancements to existing methodologies.
  • Collaborate closely with the Board of Directors, President, VP of Operations, and Directors of Compliance and Business Development to steer the formulation of both short- and long-term organizational objectives, while pinpointing strategic avenues for expansion into novel product realms.
  • Engage actively in the development of departmental short- and long-term goals, meticulously overseeing the department's adherence to project requirements.
  • Foster a symbiotic relationship with the Business Development Department to propel the organization's growth trajectory.
  • Delve into intricate analyses of long-range economic trends, skillfully projecting their potential impact on forthcoming sales growth and market share dynamics.
  • Exert meticulous oversight over capital investment decisions, liaising with investment bankers to facilitate the acquisition of supplementary capital essential for expansion endeavors.
  • Collaborate harmoniously with the President and senior executives, orchestrating the seamless coordination of planning efforts and the prioritization of strategic initiatives.
  • Undertake comprehensive operational analyses, identifying and strategizing reorganization, downsizing, or elimination of specific areas, as warranted.
  • Forge robust cross-functional liaisons with Operations, Compliance, and related units, orchestrating well-informed budgeting decisions and performance standards that significantly impact administrative endeavors.
  • Foster and nurture banking relationships, ensuring optimal borrowing capacities to facilitate necessary capital expenditure expansions.
  • Facilitate seamless coordination of external audit activities, ensuring comprehensive compliance and due diligence.
  • Spearhead adherence to the highest standards of Accounting practice in strict alignment with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Serve as a prominent representative of the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors, providing insightful financial input and expertise.
  • Develop and meticulously maintain budgets and forecasts across the organization, exercising a granular focus on both client and departmental levels.
  • Forge a dynamic partnership with Human Resources, skillfully maneuvering financial benefits analytics, compensation program analytics, insurance program management, and essential documentation substantiating business viability.
  • Operate within a dotted-line reporting framework with the Treasurer of the Board of Directors, facilitating seamless financial oversight and alignment.
  • Assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the President and Vice President of Operations, executing duties with precision and decisiveness.
  • Emerge as the esteemed representative of CTS in key project meetings, lending financial insights and expertise as the situation demands.
What qualifications you need:
  • Education: Holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; a Master's degree is preferred. Possesses a CMA (Certified Management Accountant) certification or other professional designations/certifications relevant to the position, such as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), are desired.
  • Experience: Brings to the table 10-15 years of comprehensive experience in the financial realm, including 7-12 years of supervisory roles, demonstrating a strong foundation in leadership and financial management.
  • Strong Leadership: Proficient in effective management and supervision, adept at building and energizing high-performance teams.
  • Effective Communication: Possesses exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse stakeholders and presenting information persuasively.
