**$1,000 sign on bonus ($250 paid at 3 months of employment & $250 paid at 6 months of employment & $500 paid at 1 year of employment)

PAY

This position pays $16.50 per hour

SHIFT

Shift hours 2:45p-11:00pm with flexibility to stay later as needed and weekend work required at times

JOB SUMMARY

The Production Floater will be responsible for rotating through positions on the production line to provide daily relief and coverage. The Production Floater will support the lead and supervisor to ensure that all process and procedures are being followed and report all issues. The Production Floater will follow all safety guidelines and food manufacturing regulations to ensure that safe, quality products are manufactured.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Bring raw material to production floor from storage area using pallet jack or forklift
  • Lift raw materials, finished products and packed items
  • Load material and products into processing machines/equipment/racks
  • Load products onto equipment/racks properly
  • Examine and inspect bags for leaks; cut bags necessary for rework
  • Examine and inspect totes, product to aid in verifying correct product is being loaded
  • Assist with start up, assemble/disassembly and shutdown of machine for daily production
  • Reads manufacturing orders/recipes to determine cooking times, temperatures and ingredient specification
  • Maintains accurate logs of shift production results; accurately complete and handle required paperwork
  • Observes machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled packages
  • Removes cooked product from machine/equipment
  • Sorts, weighs and inspects product to verify and adjust product weight to meet specifications
  • Clean, wash and sterilize equipment using water hoses, cleaning or sterilizing solution or rinses
  • Notifies shift supervisor/maintenance of machine/equipment issues
  • Works closely with production supervisor to ensure line running smoothly
  • Accurately weigh and measure ingredients/materials using metric measures or balance scales
  • Set-up, operate equipment that mixes/blends ingredients
  • Monitor gauges, thermometers, switches to determine proper mixing/blending temperatures
  • Assures food safety standards with regards to GMP’s and HAACP plan are followed
  • Maintains neat and clean work area at all times

SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Controlling operations of machines/equipment; mechanically inclined
  • Knowledge of basic arithmetic and algebra required
  • Ability to read and follow directions precisely
  • Ability to monitor and assess situations and take corrective action
  • Keen observation and evaluation ability
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill
  • Leadership and teamwork skills are essentials
  • Ability to take initiative; self motivated to produce results
  • Must move with sense of urgency; time management skills are essential
  • Availability to work outside of normally scheduled shift hours and work overtime when required

EDUCATION /EXPERIENCE

  • At least 3 years experience in manufacturing environment; food manufacturing environment preferred
  • Previous experience with food handling
  • Forklift experience required; certification preferred
  • High school diploma or GED / any certification in manufacturing a plus

WORK ENVIROMENT

  • Will work in environment where safety precautions are required to be followed at all times
  • Protection ear such as gloves, work boots, smocks, hair/beard nets required
  • Temperature varies from 39-45 degrees
  • Will work around moving machinery

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Moderate to heavy physical effort required
  • required to walk, stand, bend for long periods of time throughout the day
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 75 lbs

Will be expected to perform other related duties and assignments requested or directed. In the event the Production Lead is absent, the Production Supervisor will oversee duties.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
