Chagrin River Vintage is Hiring an E-Commerce Specialist Near Willoughby, OH

E-Commerce Specialist for Online Vintage and Antique Shop (also open to applicants seeking summer-only work)

Chagrin River Vintage is seeking an e-Commerce Specialist who is passionate about digital creation, vintage design, antiques and decor. This role is an excellent opportunity for digital creators, thrifters, and style/art/design enthusiasts looking to develop new skills through a rewarding paid position.

** Hourly wages start at $15.00; commissions also available.

** Hours are flexible, but candidates must be available at least 20 hours per week for at least 10 weeks in the May - September 2024 time frame. Candidates interested in continuing employment beyond summer are also welcome.

** While some telework is possible, the e-Commerce Specialist will be expected to work from an office in Willoughby (where inventory and photography equipment is kept) for at least half 5 hours each week.

A successful eCommerce Specialist will be detail-oriented, have strong organizational skills, and be able to present products with an eye for niche markets, aesthetics, and trends. Vintage lovers, estate sale junkies, and digital creators are encouraged to apply!

Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:

  • Demonstrated interest in vintage and antique decor; art and collectibles; design; and fashion trends
  • An eye for detail in product photography and basic content creation skills
  • Familiarity with e-commerce marketplace platforms like Shopify, Etsy, or Poshmark and related software programs
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Basic understanding of online selling terminology and jargon
  • Knowledge of SEO strategies, keyword research, and algorithms
  • Proficiency and experience using Google Workspace tools and/or Microsoft Office
  • Strong online research skills, including for pricing and item identification
  • Ability to use an iPhone for photography & other functions
  • A passion for process-oriented tasks; interest in developing and improving business flow processes for a small but growing business
  • Proficiency in database management
  • Reliable transportation when required
  • Ability to lift and carrying up to 25 pounds

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Craft compelling and accurate product listings, including title, description, and categorization, with proper spelling and grammar
  • Capture high-quality product images and perform necessary editing to meet quality and brand standards
  • Utilize an iPhone and web-based software to photograph, list and manage items for selling
  • Utilize market research and platform-specific analytics to set competitive pricing to maximize profitability
  • Apply SEO best practices in listing creation, including keyword research and optimization, to enhance product visibility and search ranking
  • Accurately document and catalog items; efficiently manage and update inventory to ensure consistency and accuracy of product information and stock levels
  • Engage with customers to address inquiries, provide additional product information, and foster positive customer relationships
  • Oversee the order processing workflow, including confirmation, packaging, and shipping/local pickup to ensure a smooth transaction
  • Make data-driven decisions to optimize listings for increased visibility and sales
  • Monitor and respond to customer feedback and reviews on each platform
  • Perform other duties as needed: including, but not limited to: packing/shipping orders; basic cleaning of antique items (i.e., polishing brass or copper); organizing and sorting materials.
