Join us.Job Description AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and hardworking Project Manager/Systems Engineering Lead to our grow our transit systems practice in Houston, TX . This unique and exciting position offers the opportunity to work in a developing practice with great growth opportunities while receiving support from a global system practice that leads the nation in transit systems design.RESPONSIBILITIES:Client development and marketing through client visits, tracking industry opportunities, proposal preparation and identifying new clients and industry partners.Ability to communicate well with others and support business development opportunitiesTechnical competence in all elements of transit traction power engineeringLeading a team in the preparation of design drawings and documents, technical specifications, cost estimates, proposals, calculations, and studies associated with transit projects.Technical competence in many elements of transit engineeringAbility to perform project work as well as serve as a technical leaderAbility to recommend appropriate actions to ensure compliance with all client, local, state and federal regulations including AREMA railway standards and other applicable US standardsAbility to exercise of judgment on details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternativesAbility to prepare and guide drafters/designers and less experienced engineers to prepare One-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation equipment specifications, proposal development, construction cost estimates, and project scheduling, test plans, field tests, reports, analysis, and technical studies for traction power systems.Ability to perform site investigations and walk-downs and to help clients identify solutions.Ability to manage projects of all sizes and complexitiesAbility to develop staff and facilitate team growthAt this level, individuals will have demonstrated creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving both routine and unusual engineering problems, determining program objectives and requirements, organizing programs and projects, and developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities.Qualifications MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:BA/BS 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadershipPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited education program.15 years of transit engineering experience.Professional Engineering (PE) RegistrationExperience in design/build and other alternative delivery projects.Experience in writing of technical papers and technical presentations.Experience technical studies.Leadership positions held on professional societies or technical committees.Experience in providing technical training.Experience in writing project proposals and delivery of oral presentations for purpose of business development.Extensive experience in the execution and task leadership for design calculations, plans development, specifications and technical report writing.Demonstrated ability to design with constructability in mind throughout all steps of design process.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to draw from the skills of others to bring innovation to serve the needs of our clients.Strategic thinking with the ability to foresee and be willing to advance long term goal achievement over short term gains, and realization of when a choice between the two is appropriate.Self-motivator able and willing to plan for, and act on risks and opportunities aligned with business goals and aligned within area organizational structure.Additional Information Travel may be required for this position.Sponsorship is available for this position.Relocation is available for this position.Offered rate of compensation (Texas locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
