CGB Agri Financial Services is Hiring a Credit Manager Near Louisville, KY

This job is primarily responsible for the credit granting process; including the consistent application of a credit policy, periodic credit reviews of existing customers, and the assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers, with the goal of optimizing the mix of company sales and bad debt losses. Additionally, this job is responsible for management and development of a staff. In this job, you will: Reviews and approves new credit requests, plans and organizes activities of credit department to ensure file reviews are completed timely and accurately. Requests and reviews financials on existing customers. Works with sales staff to send credit applications and requests for wire transfer and ACH account information. Completes new business prescreens for sales staff, upon request. Completes all credit reference requests, credit application vendor requests, and supplies company financial statements to prepay customers and vendors upon request. Completes credit card transaction for additional load numbers when credit is maximized or if customer has no credit. Facilitate credit allocation requests. Reviews accounts over approved credit limit. Reviews accounts receivable aging, notifies and works with sales staff for collection strategies on overdue balances; reports derogatory customers to NACM and works with legal department as needed on overdue accounts and bankruptcy creditor meetings. Completes annual and/or semi-annual reviews on account according to credit limits. Oversees and completes W-9 identification numbers, certification documents, and uniform, sales and tax certifications as requested by vendors and customers. Sets up new files and maintains existing files in applicable system(s) for each customer account. Manage and coaches assigned staff, including hiring, scheduling, promoting, performance related issues, and firing; as applicable. Attends biannual National Association of Credit Management (NACM) meetings. Other duties as assigned. Here’s what you’ll need to be considered: Education Required – Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management or related field. Experience Required – 10 years’ experience in credit management or equivalent combination of training and experience. Preferred – Experience in fertilizer or agricultural business. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Expert knowledge of credit reporting agencies, including D&B and Equifax. Thorough knowledge of credit-related regulations. Working knowledge in reading/interpreting financial statements for the purpose of underwriting credit. Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of people within and outside the organization. Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with ability to remain flexible to changing priorities. Database and spreadsheet applications skills, including data reconciliation skills. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, employees, and customers. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw logical conclusions. Ability to work effectively both autonomously and within a team environment. Ability to effectively manage and coach subordinates, including ability to communicate regarding performance. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work. Hearing. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound. The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
