SGS LLC is Hiring a Credit Specialist Near Louisville, KY

Position summary Responsible for enforcing the company’s credit and collection policies. Review and set credit limits, review DNB reports, analyze credit reports and reference information, input customers into SGS & Co systems, work to reduce overall financial risk, create AR reports, review payment history and assist AR team with all other special requests.

General purpose Assist the Credit department to achieve overall company goals and objectives by effectively working with the ARS team, Sales, customers and other areas within SGS & Co.

Role qualifications

  • Preferred 2 years in credit analysis and establishment.
  • Exceptional skills in Excel and ability to become a department expert in credit reviews.
  • Great communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Previous credit and collections experience where you actively engaged in customer reviews.

Position responsibilities

  • Work on all Account Setup requests across SGS & Co
  • Assist the Customer Master team with inboxes, requests, and analysis.
  • Provide detailed analysis and feedback to Customer Master Lead and AR Manager on customer credit worthiness, financial history and risk, and credit limits.

Essential skills and experience

  • Prior experience with managing accounts in excess of $15mm.
  • Experience working with international companies, policies/procedures, and international risk analysis
  • Communication skills across all areas of the organization.
  • Knowledgeable in credit laws (state and local).
  • Knowledgeable with tax laws (state and local).
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Team oriented individual who strives to succeed and achieve company goals.
  • Excel skills (Pivots, VLOOKUP’s, Macros, etc.)
  • Provide a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrate ownership and accountability.

Reporting relationship

Reports to Accounts Receivable Manager.

Educational & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
    • This may be substituted for experience
  • Advanced computer skills – ability to demonstrate knowledge of systems and resources
  • Previous credit experience demonstrating the ability to lower past due and financial risk
