The Position:

We are seeking a full-time Billing Specialist Lead. This position is primarily responsible for managing and coordinating the day-to-day activities and infrastructure of the centralized billing department. Manage a diverse team of staff including reimbursement/reconciliation staff, EDI specialist, and third-party payer specialists.

What You’ll Do:

• Oversee the operations of the billing department.
• Assist in the development and implementation of operating policies and procedures and thoroughly track and document these procedures.
• Review and interpret operations data to assess need for procedural revisions and enhancements; participate in the design and implementation of specific systems to enhance revenue and operating efficiency.
• Review several EHR billing error and denial reports to resolve issues preventing billable activities from being invoiced.
• Ensure that all policies and procedures pertaining to DMH billing are implemented and followed.
• Processes Admin Updates on claims needing change of payers or programs, or others.
• Act as the DMH liaison for the Child and Family Guidance Center in regards to billing issues, policies and procedures.
• Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 am- 5:00 pm, 1-hour meal period
• Hybrid work options available
• Starting Salary: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour

Qualifications

• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical, administrative, or mental health agency office setting.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based setting
• Detail-oriented, analytical, demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, resourceful, reliable, able to adhere to deadlines, self-starter and be able to work independently.
• Must have a good sense of judgment as pertaining to the position.
• Knowledge of LACDMH compliance rules preferable
• Bachelor’s or Associate's Degree in relevant field preferred. High School Diploma or GED required.
