Duties:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the shop, ensuring efficient and timely completion of projects
- Coordinate and assign tasks to shop employees, monitoring progress and providing guidance as needed
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate assembly and fabrication
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments to assemble and fabricate components
- Conduct quality control inspections to ensure products meet specifications and standards
- Maintain inventory of materials and supplies, coordinating with the warehouse as needed
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic maintenance and repairs as necessary
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team while also being self-motivated and independent
