- Coordinate 10-15 shop crane and truck mechanics on ongoing repairs according to service schedule dictated by Service Manager
- Obtain miles, hours, and any other meter tracked information for each machine on a repair order.
- Ascertain immediate course of action by listening to customers’ description of symptoms.
- Help service writers and service manager prepare repair orders by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required.
- Maintain contact with customers by explaining estimates, providing status updates to customers, and ETAs of job completion via phone.
- Take information gathered from shop technicians to populate service databases and, when necessary, ask questions where discrepancies exist in order to provide a full and complete story in the service database systems.
- Review completed work from the service department and perform quality of work inspection checks.
- Help maintain any status tracking systems for repairs used by the service department (internal software, Karmak, spreadsheets, whiteboards, etc.)
Maintain service department phones.
- Mobile Cranes and Haul trucks and their transport equipment including designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
