The Project Engineer will be responsible for developing estimates, technical specs, and design for custom stairs and related products for both residential and commercial projects.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for timely and accurate estimates for custom stairs and handrails.
• Responsible for taking basic specifications from customers and sales staff and create a working BOM and workflow routing for an entire job.
• Applies an understanding of product specifications, materials, manufacturing processes, cost constraints for estimates.
• Recommends and presents alternative solutions and opportunities to meet customer inspirations.
• Works with project managers to validate BOM, workflow, and detailed technical specs for approved orders.
• Works with managers on standardization initiatives and developing best practices.
• Assist in breaking down products into components for manufacturing.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field
• Strong knowledge of problem-solving techniques and methodologies
• Strong background in wood working/craftsmanship.
• Demonstrates strong static/dynamic analytical skills.
• Ability to understand architectural drawings and building schematics.
• Must be proficient in Excel and Microsoft Suite
• Experienced in AutoCAD
• Strong knowledge of 3D Modeling (SolidWorks preferred)
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong understanding of core millwork processes and machinery
• Hands on prototyping/design validation knowledge preferred.
• Knowledge of Google Smartsheet preferred.
