Century Casinos is Hiring an Assistant Casino Shift Manager Near Sparks, NV

FUNCTION:

Responsible for the operation of the casino floor in the absence of the Casino Shift Manager. The Assistant Casino Manager has decision making input and authority as required, within other operating areas / departments. Ability to make sound business decisions and maintain the highest level of customer service, hospitality, and professionalism to reflect positively on the Nugget. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Possess the scheduling flexibility to rotate shifts as needed to meet business demands. May be required to work at both indoor/outdoor special events.
  1. Consistently demonstrate personal actions and behaviors that are in alignment with company / department strategies, objectives, and initiatives.
  2. Demonstrate the highest level of initiative and professionalism. Ensure that supervision, coaching and rewarding of staff is equitable and appropriate.
  3. Ensure that the highest level of customer service and Table Games professionalism is being delivered by staff during assigned shift. Takes appropriate action to correct deficiencies immediately and document as appropriate with the company disciplinary guidelines. Maintain open communication in the work environment while providing effective coaching, counseling, and support.
  4. Communicate and facilitate the timely and proper flow of information to management as well as to subordinates. 
  5. Protect company assets while adhering to all Nevada Gaming regulations. 
  6. Maintain appropriate game spread, table limits, labor utilization and staffing in accordance with customer demand and predetermined financial goals. Take action to correct over / under staffing immediately. Participates in scheduling and labor use projections.
  7. Thoroughly understand Table Games accounting procedures and administrative tasks, for example, fills, credits, extension of credit, marker transactions and responsibilities regarding proper administration of Title 31. Monitor and train table games staff accordingly.
  8. Adhere to and support department initiatives while coaching and developing employees.
  9. Full knowledge of the Nugget’s customer rating system. Train and monitor Games Supervisors to ensure customers are accurately rated and comps, are consistently issued within established procedures and guidelines.
  10. Initiate and extend credit to guests in accordance with policies, procedures, and gaming regulations.
  11. Provide complete information to the Casino Manager and VP of Gaming Operations regarding all significant Table Games player action as determined by guidelines, any suspicious / unusual gaming related activity or significant customer service issues.
  12. Recommend solutions as part of the informational process and assumes ownership for carrying out solutions.
  13. Resolve guest service and/or employee related issues while acting autonomously and involving senior management as appropriate.
  14. Recommend and provide training for all department members on customer service, performance management, dealing procedures, game protection, or other topics as assigned by the Casino Manager or VP of Gaming Operations. 
  15. Ensure Table Games Supervisors complete assigned performance evaluation with supporting documentation in a timely, professionally, accurate and fair manner.
  16. Prepare evaluations on all assigned supervisors conforming to the previously stated criteria.
  17. Provide leadership insight and recommend solutions for other operating areas as appropriate.
  18. Assure alignment with directives and all related job responsibilities with assigned Casino Manager.
  19. Possess knowledge of Nugget facility to efficiently answer customer questions or if unable to answer, seek answers or refer promptly to management.
  20. Must be able to work in in a “smoke filled” environment.
  21. Be physically capable of standing and performing job duties in an 8 or 10hour shift.
  22. Thoroughly familiar with all emergency response procedures and assume a critical leadership role during any property wide emergency or major safety related issues. Using the Nugget’s system of recognition, recognize team members who are going “above and beyond.”
  23. Knowledgeable of and consistently follow Nugget policies and procedures as well as appropriate local, state, and federal regulations.
  24. Perform work in a safe manner and always maintain a safe environment for fellow team members and guests alike. 
  25. Immediately report unsafe conditions, team member or guest incidents to Security, Management, and the Safety Manager.
  26. Always maintain a positive and professional image for the Nugget when performing duties or representing the Nugget and encourages others to do the same.
  27. Regular predictable attendance is required.
  28. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Casino Shift Manager

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must be at least 21 years of age. 

EDUCATION LEVEL:

College degree preferred. High School diploma or equivalent is required. 

LANGUAGE:

Effectively communicate with others both verbally and in written form using the English language. 

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 5 years casino gaming experience required, including 2 years in a Supervisory position. 

SPECIAL SKILLS:

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:

Alcohol Awareness Certification is required. 

Employee Gaming registration required. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Ability to walk, stand, or sit for long periods of time.

Ability to lift, and move product up to 50 lbs.

Fine finger manipulation. 

Work environment may include smoke and variable temperature, lighting, and noise levels.

Work may be performed indoors and outdoors during special events.
