Patient Care Coordinator

Central Virginia Physical Therapy is looking for a dynamic patient care coordinator to join our team. We are a busy outpatient privately owned physical therapy office with excellent therapists.

Job Description: We are open Monday - Friday and the hours vary dependent on the clinic schedule. This will be a full-time position with competitive salary and benefits. The ideal candidate needs to be outgoing, comfortable with technology and able to multi task. This position requires attention to detail with time-sensitive assignments. Experience with medical insurances preferred.

Job Types: Full-Time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Duties:

• Provide excellent customer service to patients at all times.
• Greet patients when they arrive and check them in for their appointments.
• Patient registration including demographics and insurance information.
• Collect patient co-pays and balances.
• Verify insurance eligibility.
• Check patients out and make follow up appointments.
• Obtain authorizations for insurance plans that require them.
• Answer phones, make appointments and take messages for patients.
• Send medical records to referring doctors and attorneys as needed.
• Assist with billing as requested.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience: One-year experience is preferred

Knowledge:

• Knowledge of physical therapy office protocols and procedures
• Knowledge of EMR and medical documentation
• Knowledge of HIPAA
• Knowledge of medical insurance

Skills:

• Skill in using computer software in a Windows environment
• Skill in using EMR systems

Abilities:

• Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent situations
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally on the phone and in person, and in writing in email and EMR messages, etc.
• Ability to manage time effectively in order to plan, prioritize and complete daily tasks
• Ability to adapt to changes in policies, processes and systems
• Ability to pay close attention to detail
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, caregivers, providers, employees, and those outside of the practice such as referring doctors, pharmacy staff, etc.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
