Central Outreach Wellness Center is Hiring a Hep-C Medical Assistant (Wilkes Barre/Scranton & Allentown/Bethlehem) Near Pittsburgh, PA
Duties and Responsibilities:
Traveling each day to a different Addiction Recovery facility in PA to offer Hepatitis C, HIV and STD point of care testing & linkage to care services.
Contacting a potential clinic or facility who has not expressed previous interest in person to offer our services and create relationships.
Be a self-motivated individual eager to talk and engage with all addiction recovery patients and staff at each facility.
Educating staff & patients on the importance of being tested and cured for Hepatitis C and treated for HIV & STD’s.
Complete the necessary paperwork (consent forms, etc.) with each patient before testing
Excellent phlebotomy skills are essential.
Draw labs through phlebotomy as ordered, properly labeling samples, and delivering labs to office or a local drop off facility each day.
Attempt to test all patients in the facility each visit, this is done by education, and engagement of all patients and staff each day.
Obtain Vitals Including Height, Weight, BP, Pulse, RR, etc.
Chart a description of each encounter in the EMR system
Facilitate a telemedicine visit between the patient and a nurse practitioner
Electronically track patients being tested for Hepatitis C in Microsoft and offer follow up services to get them cured!
Continue to be in contact with all patients until SVR12
Requirements:
Clean PA driving record and valid PA driver’s license for 3 years.
Work flexible hours, not your typical 9-5, every day, based on clinic hours of operations, will vary.
Strong customer service skills
Friendly, outgoing personality with the ability to make people comfortable enough with you to be tested.
Ability to work collaboratively in team-based care including CRNP and Hepatitis C Outreach & Linkage to care coordinators
Excellent phlebotomy skills are a must.
Knowledge of basic computer skills, Excel, Word and how to use Electronic Medical Records
Experience with patient centered care

Strong communication skills with both professionals and patients from all demographics

Technical skills with required office equipment
Patience and great attention to detail
Completely understand the healthcare privacy laws as outlined in HIPAA
