Position Summary:​ The Director of Multilingual Learners provides the strategy and support to the Central Falls School District (CFSD) on all matters related to language learning and develops opportunities for all members of our CF community, students and educators to become multilingual. The Director of MLLs reports to the Chief Academic Officer and works alongside other directors and the school principals to ensure that the school’s academic and cultural priorities are aligned in support of student learning and the learning of teachers and staff in support of multilingual learners, which represent almost 50% of our CFSD students. You will lead our efforts to analyze and use school-level data to personalize instruction and to inform the practices of our teachers and residents. Responsibilities: Cultivate, coordinate and collaborate to create targeted strategies for English learners during the school day and through out of school time programming.Implement current research based strategies and programs to eliminate opportunity/achievement gaps with a specific focus on our major immigrant/ethnic populations. Develop a professional learning plan that ensures all staff implement evidence based practices to ensure we are continuously improving in supporting our students who are MLLs. Use data to support all educators in closing the gaps and make systemic recommendations for action to improve the district’s performance in eliminating opportunity gaps Support and grow dual-language programs in the district which currently serve PK-7 and will be expanding to PK-12. Create partnerships, practices and programs to recruit BDL teachers and build a robust pipeline of educators prepared to meet the needs of our MLLsSupport the registration process for new students (testing) Compliance of ELL Census Coordinate state, local and other interim assessments of language development used in CFSD to then provide feedback to educators on how we can continuously improve language instruction and learning across all 4 domains of language acquisition.And any other responsibilities deemed needed by the superintendent
