Central Boston Elder Services is Hiring a Resident Service Manager Near Boston, MA

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Resident Service Manager (RSM) takes a lead role and is responsible for oversight of the Resident Service Coordination Team. The Resident Service Manager works collaboratively with CBES managers and the property management of the community housing facilities, including but not limited to BHA properties. The RSM supervises all activities performed by CBES Resident Service Coordinators and meets regularly with Property Management staff to develop professional relationships, review new referrals, and provide updates regarding ongoing case status and issues. The RSM meets with tenants in designated properties to discuss issues affecting their health, well-being, quality of life, and/or tenancy. In addition, the RSM will serve as CBESs representative which includes marketing and further promoting services provided by CBES, to increase the number of consumers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Responsible for motivating, and providing support, consultation, and supervision to the Resident Service Coordination Team.
  2. Meet with Property Management staff at assigned buildings at least weekly to review and prioritize resident referrals. 
  3. Meet with Property Development staff and the Resident Task Force at least quarterly to discuss and schedule upcoming events.
  4. Establish, post, and maintain weekly office hours at each assigned building.
  5. Prepare and coordinate monthly activities for various events, including activities and training for tenants, volunteers, and staff in designated properties.
  6. Meet with the CBES Behavioral Health Consultant as needed for clinical guidance and to develop strategies to enhance the engagement of residents who may not be aware of the services CBES provides. 
  7. Conduct formal and informal needs assessments of residents referred by the Property Management staff.
  8. Create and implement action plans to resolve identified issues.
  9. Maintain and updates electronic and paper records, logs, timesheets, and other required documentation. 
  10. Prepare reports as requested by the Management Team.
  11. Prepare presentations for Property Management, tenants, staff, and other community organizations outlining the services and resources available to residents in need. 
  12. Collaborate with CBES HC Central Intake Unit, submit referrals to CBES Home Care and Special Programs, and other community agencies to assist them with identified unmet needs.
  13. Periodically conduct community/neighborhood resource audits to identify and develop partnerships that help address resident needs and support resident involvement in the community.
  14. Report suspected cases of abuse and neglect to the appropriate entity.
  15. Report suspected Fraud, Waste, and Abuse (FW&A) as required by CBES FW&A policy
  16. Protect Consumers’ Personal Health Information (PHI) and report any suspected security breaches. 
  17. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree and at least two years of social services experience.
  2. Ability to assess clients and their needs and knowledge of the community-based service network.
  3. Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills required.
  4. Ability to work with a racially, ethnically, and linguistically diverse population of older adults and younger persons with disabilities.
  5. Ability to speak and write fluently in English and Spanish.
  6. Massachusetts Social Worker licensure preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:

  • Ability to lift and carry objects frequently weighing up to 10 to 15 pounds.
  • Ability to climb stairs.
  • Ability to travel to the community to perform visits at consumers’ homes.
  • Work requires regularly standing, stooping, and bending.
