Center Management Group is Hiring a Recreation Aide Near Brooklyn, NY

We are a beautiful skilled nursing facility situated in a great neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY! We are seeking a highly motivated experienced individual to join our team that we call family!

Bensonhurst Center for Rehabilitation & Healthcare is seeking a Recreation Aide to join our dynamic team. Our ideal candidate will have previous experience working with the elderly.

  • Assist department staff with the implementation of activities and programs for Residents; focusing on individual interests
  • Work directly with Residents on units; Involve the resident/family in planning objectives and goals for the resident
  • Assist residents to program location and return residents to appropriate units
  • Participate in discharge planning, development and implementation of activity care plans and resident assessments
  • Organize and obtain supplies and equipment as requested.
  • Assist recreation specialists & set up program areas as needed.
  • Keep daily attendance and document resident’s participation in activities.
  • Assist residents to program location and return residents to appropriate units.
  • Communicate related information to other individuals directly involved in Resident care
  • Be familiar with established emergency procedures.
  • Collaborate with Recreation Director to create/modify the recreation calendar and coordinate with outside parties to implement recreational activities. Distribute calendars.
  • Be familiar with established emergency procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and have a caring personality
  • Experience with activities in healthcare settings or college work in recreation therapy
  • Knowledge of APIE (assessment / planning / implementation / evaluating) programs
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member
  • Strong organizational & planning skills; ability to multi-task
  • Maintain positive and professional attitude
  • Maintain professional appearance
  • Enjoy working with the elderly
  • Experience with recreation therapy/activities
  • Associate Degree
  • Strong computer skills necessary
