The Center for Women and Families - Crisis Response Advocate

The Center for Women and Families is looking for warm, caring, and empathetic individuals driven by a desire to help others! The Crisis Response Advocate helps to move toward our vision of thriving survivors in safe communities!


The Center for Women and Families
provides free services to people of all identities who have experienced intimate partner violence and sexual assault. We help our clients and their dependent children become survivors through trauma-informed advocacy. Our goal is to mitigate the impact of their trauma by reducing their risk factors and building resiliency. We serve anyone in Jefferson, Bullitt, Spencer, Shelby, Oldham, Henry, and Trimble counties in Kentucky and Floyd and Clark counties in Indiana.

The Crisis Response Advocate (CRA) is responsible for providing direct service to clients in a 24/7 call center environment. The CRA is the first impression many clients and community members experience with The Center.


The schedule for this position is Tuesday - Saturday, 2pm - 10:30pm.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, counseling, advocacy, information, referrals and supportive services to clients, via call center and walk-in environments.
  • Document prompt and timely interactions with clients and other relevant activities to support continuous improvement and examine program goals and outcomes.
  • Engage as an active contributor to Call Center and Centerwide initiatives.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a driving record that meets CWF automobile insurance requirements.
  • Fluency in languages other than English are a plus!
  • Developed sense of empathy.
  • Self-starter.
  • Organizational skills.


The Center requires the basic round of COVID vaccinations and highly recommends boosters.
