The HR Operations Generalist’s role is to provide multi-discipline Human Resources support, as well as lead and drive efforts in areas including recruitment, engagement and retention, learning and development, and vision and culture. The HR Operations Generalist works across all departments within the organization and provides expertise and partnership to leaders and employees to promote a positive employee experience. This position reports to the VP, HR & Administration and works collaboratively as part of the HR team. This is a full time, 40 hour per week position with a combination of remote and onsite work.

Major Functional Areas and Description of Duties

  • Creates and drives a dynamic talent acquisition program to attract a diverse, talented candidate pool and meets the workforce needs of the organization; works closely with hiring managers to ensure there is adequate applicant flow and vacancies are filled in a timely basis;
  • Manages the new hire onboarding and induction process, and serves as a liaison to new staff as they assimilate to their new roles at CLM;
  • Manages the college internship program, working closely with collegiate partners and program directors to ensure and adequate pipeline of candidates is readily available; attends college fairs and job fairs as needed;
  • Oversees collaborations with professional development affiliates;
  • Manages employee engagement processes, including developing and analyzing culture surveys, creates innovative recognition programs, partners with internal leaders to develop and implement engagement and retention initiatives, and integrates feedback into policies and practices;
  • Serves as a trusted resource to all team members to help navigate career development and ensure great employee experiences.
  • Provides consultation, guidance and support in matters related to employee relations including performance management, code of conduct, fair employment practices, accommodations and other application of local policies, procedures and applicable laws.
  • Completes reports and shares HR metrics and trends on a monthly basis; utilizes data to derive insights on people trends to recommend, implement, and manage projects and programs;
  • Drives agency-wide education and initiatives around diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging;
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of professional, cross-functional experience in Human Resources;
  • Bachelor’s degree required, additionally, applicable Human Resources certifications preferred;
  • Excellent organizational, coaching, and leadership skills required;
  • Experience creating and improving structures, processes, and/or systems within HR;
  • Experience with HRIS, ATS and employee benefits platforms;
  • Outstanding verbal, written and presentation skills;
  • Excellent people management skills, including the ability to foster collaboration and inclusion, provide individualized support to employees, influence, negotiate, and achieve results;
  • Expertise in change management and promoting adoption of new processes, systems and policies;
  • Willingness to cross train in all disciplines and micro-disciplines within the Human Resources function;
  • Knowledge of federal and multi-state employment laws;
  • Successful ability to use people analytics and data to influence business decisions.
  • Experience tracking and analysis HR data metrics and trends;
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft office applications with emphasis on Word, Excel, Outlook and TEAMS;
  • Ability and desire to work as part of a team while also able to be self-directed and motivated with minimal supervision;
  • Flexibility to adapt schedule and fill in as needed;
  • Ability to ongoingly acquire and effectively execute new skills and HR knowledge as needed according to evolving department needs and industry developments.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

The majority of the work takes in an office setting with remote work permitted. Manual dexterity is needed to use computers and standard office equipment. The ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time is required. Reliable transportation is required for travel between office locations. Reliable internet for remote work is required for this role.
