GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Credit Analyst Intern works inside the Credit Analysis department, learning skills needed to perform financial analysis and loan package preparation for consumer and commercial loan requests and other loan underwriting activities and duties. The internship program aims to enable students in a four-year degree plan to learn the job responsibilities in the credit analysis financial field.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Inputs financial data into respective spreadsheets. This duty is performed daily, about 40% of the time.
2. Performs and reviews inspections. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time.
3. Aids in compiling annual reviews and loan packages. This duty is performed as needed, about 25% of the time.
4. Assists with miscellaneous loan reporting responsibilities. This duty is performed as needed, about 20% of the time.
5. Attends various meetings to learn about bank functions and the loan origination process. This duty is performed as needed, about 5% of the time.
6. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. This duty is performed daily.
7. Completes required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned. This duty is performed as needed.
8. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of a specialized field (however acquired), such as basic accounting, computer, etc. Equivalent of four years in high school, plus night, trade extension, or correspondence school specialized training, equal to two years of college, plus 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS
Ability to utilize common sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral or diagrammed instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving several known variables in situations of a routine nature.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
-Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related business degree with a 3.0 GPA or higher
-Must be classified as a junior status from an accredited four-year university
-Must have knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and regulations and knowledge of Bank policies and procedures
-Must have strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
-Must be able to balance multiple tasks and projects simultaneously within a limited time frame
-Must be detail oriented and have strong organizational, communication and customer relation skills
-Must have a basic understanding of accounting and finance
-Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software
-Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
