Responsibilities - What you will be doing:

• Designing and implementing
  • State of the art query optimizer, execution engine, and scheduler to build the world's fastest query engine... 
  • A novel storage engine that supports fast insert, delete, update, and high query performance at the same time.
  • Next generation LakeHouse with high query performance
  • Novel serverLess cloud-native database
• Identifying, analyzing, and fixing performance and scalability issues
• Coaching other team members

Requirements - What we are looking for:

• 7 years of hands-on database core development experience
• Proficient in C or Java
• Expertise in database internals or building core components (query optimization, query execution, storage engines, transaction processing) for large-scale data processing systems (e.g. Flink, Spark, Presto, etc.)
• Deep understanding of OS, CPU, IO, Network, and Memory Management.
• Experience with one or more of the following is highly desired: Big Data storage technologies and their applications (HDFS, Cassandra, HBase, Kudu, RocksDB, etc.) Streaming and batch processing systems (Flink, Spark, etc.) LakeHouse systems (Databricks, Dremio, etc.) Advanced Analytics systems (ClickHouse, Presto, Druid, SingleStore, etc.)
• Able to debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience working on open-source projects is a plus

• Demonstrated success in collaborating with software developers, product managers, teachers, consultants, account representatives, and the StarRocks Community to deliver a fantastic user and customer experience
• A sense of adventure and urgency in building the most scalable, high performing, most significant, and fastest databases on the planet
• Passion for applying open-source software technology to massive data sets to solve complex questions and improve the world in which we live
• Fluent in Mandarin Chinese
