Do you want to gain real world working experience with a fast-growing company that places an emphasis on being at the forefront of logistical technology innovation? CDS Logistics & Home Services is seeking a talented and technically savvy information technology focused student to partake in a fast-paced enriching internship where you will learn and gain hands on experience while working within the System Support and Network Support teams of a growing organization. We anticipate this internship to last for 90 days with at least 20 hours per week of availability between our operating hours. This position will report onsite and can be used in conjunction with university course credit.

The System Support Intern is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the System Support team that support activates will focus on but not be limited to are hardware setup, hardware inventory, account creation, and end user support, in addition to other tasks to support the department as assigned.

Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Inventory current scanning hardware on hand.
  • Inventory all computer related hardware.
  • Assisted the system support team with updating scanner maintenance agreements.
  • Help system support track scanners that are not communicating with our system.
  • Assisted with computer and scanner setup.
  • Work on special projects as assigned.
  • Preform other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Required Education and Experience

  • Willing and qualified to partner with the Maryland Technology Internship Program (MTIP)
  • Interest in holding a professional position within an IT department.
  • The ideal candidate will have a willingness to learn while working in a team environment.
  • The ability to apply feedback and focus on continual process improvement and operational excellence.

MTIP Eligibility:

  • Current college student, with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above, who is attending a Maryland higher education institution.
  • Current college student, with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above, who is Maryland high school graduate attending a higher education institution outside of Maryland.
  • Graduate (within 12 months) of a Maryland higher education institution.
  • Maryland resident, with a 2 or 4-year degree, who has been honorably discharged from the U.S. Armed Forces, The National Guard, or a Reserve component of the Armed Forces within the last 18 months.

Important note: Interns who are funded through the program will have access to special networking and educational events and will be required to complete a post internship evaluation and survey.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Microsoft 365.
  • Microsoft outlook.
  • Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with Android devices.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities. This position is part time (between Monday – Friday 8:30am -5:00pm) The schedule can be flexible surrounding school hours, with at least 16-20 hours of availability per week.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This position will also require operations within a warehouse and field environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, sit for prolonged periods of time, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Little to no travel is expected for this position.
