Position: Full Time

Shift Schedule: M-F8:30AM-5:00PM

Exempt Status: Salary, Exempt

About the Job

CDS Logistics is seeking a dynamic professional to be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department based out of our corporate office in Middle River, MD. As an HR Coordinator with CDS Logistics you will work closely with the Lead HR Administrator and HR Manager to ensure operational excellence is met in the HR department. The primary goal of an HR Coordinator is to support HR administrative functions, data management and compliance, talent acquisitions and vendor management, employer branding, and partner with the HR team to support special projects as assigned. The goal is to ensure we are driving business results to meet our organizational objectives, mission, vision, and values always ensuring operational excellence.

  • Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating efforts with your stakeholders.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Complete regular meetings with HR team on approved open talent needs and TA recruitment strategies.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of the 90-day temp to hire extended onboarding process.
  • Manage temp staffing vendor relationship and regular communications.
  • Own data retention, compliance, and filing with core data stored both physically and in our HRIS platform.
  • Own new hire onboarding process flow with new hires, managers, and HR team members.
  • Create job descriptions and postings that list requirements for each job, such as desired work experience, education, and job skills following company job description templates.
  • Translate these talent needs into internal and external job postings, advertising and recruiting activities.
  • Locate qualified, potential applicants using databases or online job posting boards.
  • Communicate with potential applicants by phone, email, or in person.
  • Screen resumes and interview candidates for open positions within this organization.
  • Apply principles of behavioral interviewing to access the qualifications of candidates.\
  • Investigate referrals, references, and social media sources to formulate a well-rounded view of applicants.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with colleges and local organizations to participate in job fairs or networking events.
  • Participate in the preparation and communication of offer packages with selected applicants for employment opportunities.
  • Coordinate pre-employment screening activities with offered applicants.
  • Coordinate and execute onboarding activities with new hires, managers and HR.
  • Track and report out recruiting metrics such as: hiring manager satisfaction, cost to hire, time to fill/hire, source of hire, offer acceptance rate, first-year attrition, new hire job satisfaction, selection ratio, etc.
  • Assists HR department in carrying out various human resources programs, procedures, projects, and communications.
  • Assist with employee engagement activities and events to positively influence organizational culture.
  • Monitor all follow up items for employee base with leadership and HR team to ensure timely execution for all employee focused and HR initiatives. Responsible for communicating to all parties surrounding deadlines and actions required to meet or exceed these deadlines.
  • Work with Lead HR Administrator to produce employment branding documents and company newsletter articles.
  • Assist employee engagement activities and events.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Interest in holding a professional position within an HR department.
  • Microsoft Office Proficiency.
  • The ideal candidate will have a willingness to learn while working in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft outlook proficiency
  • Associates or higher-level education with a concentration in human resources or business management.
  • Office Administrative experience

Physical Demands

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading, typing and use of wrists, hands, and fingers.

Travel

Little to no travel is expected for this position.

Work Environment

This job operates in an office environment. This role routinely uses office equipment such as computers, scanners, copiers, telephones. This position also operates near a warehouse environment, however only trained personally are permitted to access the warehouse environment while observing all safety procedures.
