JOB SUMMARYPerforms product inspections according to engineering drawings, specifications, and instructions to ensure products meet or exceed customer and company requirements. Responsibilities include but are not limited to performing final inspections, in process inspection, as well as first article inspection and documentation development. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESReads blueprints, work order, specifications, acceptance criteria and quality plans to obtain information such as dimensional requirements, materials, visual attributes, and documentation requirements.Advanced CMM programing experience. Analyze drawings, part specifications, tolerances, and design data to develop CMM programs as well as identify probing and fixtures requirements.Optimize CMM program run time and probing techniques.Develop standard work instructions to guide the operational steps of the CMM.Perform dimensional inspection to verify conformance to design and print specifications using CMM and other precision measurement equipment such as micrometers, optical comparator, calipers, etc.Participate in review of New Product Setup Process to develop proper inspection methods, programs and ensure appropriate inspection equipment is available before product release.Develop inspection plans and setups for new and legacy products.Document inspection results into ERP system, Inspection Database and QMS system.Support the receiving, in-process, and final inspection activities.Provide support in calibration of company equipment and instruments according to company specifications. REQUIREMENTSMust have a clear understanding and working knowledge of shop math, geometry, and trigonometry skills with the ability to understand and calculate angles, diameter, circumference, and radius.Strong experience and ability to setup, program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM’s) using Calypso software. Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints including complex geometric tolerancing, technical and customer specifications, and internal drawings and procedures. Solid knowledge of GD&T as well as knowledge of and ability to use inspection tools and equipment. High school diploma or GED. Experience/combined education with additional specialized technical training equivalent to a technical Associate degree preferred.10 years of experience as a quality inspector in a tight tolerance manufacturing environment.Familiarity with ISO, AS, API as well as industry and governmental standards.Must have the ability to read, write and comprehend English. Good team player who can work efficiently with minimal supervision. WORK ENVIRONMENTSpends 100% of time in shop. May be exposed to possible shop hazards including heavy machinery, fumes, dust, heat and high pressure and temperatures.
