Description:

Expected Starting Salary Range: $52.66 - $67.30/hr

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

Prospect Research - Supervise the work of a comprehensive prospect research program, including establishing a long-term strategic vision and annual goals for the team. Partner with fundraising leaders to determine long-term and annual priorities for prospect research as well as leading projects aimed at expanding and refining the prospect pool, including working with vendors, overseeing robust screening program, and other key projects. Direct, develop, and implement strategies to create robust prospect identification and evaluation processes for strategic initiatives and priorities.

Prospect Management - Supervise Prospect Management staff, including collaboration with fundraising leaders to develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive prospect management program. Ensure the prospect management system provides organization-wide transparency, consistency, coordination, and collaboration of fundraiser engagement and solicitation activities. Partner with fundraising leaders to encourage frontline fundraiser adherence to prospect management protocols and best practices. Create and maintain training programs for frontline fundraisers in prospect management processes. Develop, implement, and maintain robust portfolio optimization processes in collaboration with fundraising leadership. Facilitate strategic meetings with fundraisers working collaboratively on new and existing initiatives.

Project Leadership – Provide leadership for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with organizational strategy, commitments and goals. Define project scope, goals, deliverables and resource requirements. Define and manage the project budget. Develop project plans, resource allocation, and timeline. Drive completion of projects by collaborators and staff to ensure timely completion of deliverables. Direct assigned project team ensuring effective utilization of resources. Monitor project deliverables and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders.

Performance Management – Direct the development and monitoring of an effective staffing and retention strategy, including hiring and terminating employees, workforce planning, succession planning; attracting and retaining top performers, partnering with leadership and Human Resources to develop effective and appropriate recruitment packages, and effective on-boarding programs for staff; effective performance management of direct reports; in partnership with leadership, provide mentoring and development to faculty and other leaders in effective performance management; mentor and provide learning and development opportunities for direct reports and others in business roles; effectively and appropriately leveraging human resources business partners to meet the division’s talent management goals; ultimate responsibility for supporting organizational programs/plans that impact employees and ensuring communication, comprehension, and adherence to all Human Resources policies and related legal and/or compliance requirements.

Strategic Management – Collaborate with departmental and organizational leadership on long-term and short-term planning. Supports the strategic priorities through targeted, innovative and responsive solutions. Serves as an organizational advocate and partner with business leaders. Acts together with management as a champion for positive organizational culture and quality of work life. Propose, research, and manage the development, implementation and assessment of long and short term operating and goals and objectives. Operationalize, implement and monitor assigned strategic initiatives. Drive execution of the assigned strategic plan components.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

·Bachelor's Degree in a related field

·7 years of work experience in a related job discipline

Preferred:

·Experience with using relational databases (preferably Raiser’s Edge) to perform queries and create reports

·2 years of supervisory experience

·Experience interacting with senior leadership

·Experience with developing and facilitating training materials and curriculum

·Strong communication and organizational skills; consistently exhibit strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills; have the ability to develop positive relationships and work effectively with a variety of leaders, colleagues, and clients; and maintain confidentiality and use good judgement when accessing and/or working with sensitive information.

·Thorough understanding of the development cycle and expert knowledge of the role of prospect development within the cycle. Proficiency in all domains of Apra’s Body of Knowledge.

·Excellent project management skills with proficiency in negotiating requests, prioritizing work, managing time, and taking ownership of outcomes.

·Prior management experience with ability to build and maintain a positive working environment and supportive team culture. Ability to delegate work appropriately and provide actionable feedback to staff.

·Superior interpersonal skills, including diplomacy, influence, and persuasion. Ability to develop strategic partnerships with all levels and types of staff. Ability to adapt communication styles and vehicles to various audiences and purposes, conveying key information in a clear and concise manner.

·Ability to deal with highly sensitive information, maintain confidentiality, and exercise a high degree of judgment and discretion. Ability to apply themes from ethics statements by Apra and other related associations.
