The Project Management Consultant will direct all Ohio Colleges of Medicine Government Resource Center (GRC) disability inclusion and digital accessibility initiatives and serve as a Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI, and subject matter expert on disability-focused projects to advance health equity for Ohioans with disabilities. Position responsibilities include serving as GRCs disability inclusion and digital accessibility subject matter expert. In this role, the Project Management Consultant will provide advanced specialized knowledge in disability and health topics and universal design principles to train GRC staff on disability topics; provide technical support and subject matter expertise across GRC projects on disability inclusion considerations and creating universally designed projects, products, and materials; provide support to the GRC Communications team and GRC project teams to ensure all GRC products and content are digitally accessible; serve as GRCs digital accessibility point of contact with The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, College of Medicine, and broader University and communicate all digital accessibility best practices, updates, and resources with GRC staff; ensure all GRC hosted in-person and virtual meetings and events are accessible; and onboard new staff to disability and health, disability inclusion, digital accessibility, and universal design principles to apply in their GRC project work and provide ongoing mentorship/staff development on these topics to current staff. The Project Management Consultant will also provide ongoing training and coaching support to GRC managers and PIs to lead project teams with an inclusive leadership style and how to fulfill accommodations for GRC staff and external partners and stakeholders with disabilities. Other responsibilities include directing complex statewide or national state collaborative projects as PI or Co-PI with large scope to advance health equity for people with disabilities (additional details included in Responsibilities (Duties) section below). Also serves as a subject matter expert consultant to various state and external partners on disability topics and projects. Additional responsibilities may include identifying funding opportunities and leading efforts to apply for funding opportunities; and leading sponsor communication to guide project task order/contract/proposal development and establishing project goals, objectives, and budget needs.
Minimum Education Required:
Bachelors degree in a relevant field or equivalent is required.
Additional Desired Education:
Masters and/or doctoral degree in a relevant field is preferred.
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of six years of relevant experience with a bachelors degree or four years of relevant experience with an advanced degree is required. Advanced technical and subject matter knowledge of disability and health and universal design principles and application is required. Prior experience in public health, healthcare policy, and/or program design, implementation and evaluation is required. Advanced knowledge, including accessibility features, of Microsoft Office, meeting facilitation software (e.g., Teams/Zoom) and other project management tools (e.g., Gantt chart) is required. Requires successful completion of a background check.
Additional Desired Qualifications:
Experience collaborating with and engaging disability stakeholders including disability serving organizations, conducting needs/assets assessments, and strategic planning processes is preferred. Training and/or certificates related to disability topics and/or digital accessibility is preferred. Experience securing external funding and leading large-scale disability-focused projects is preferred. Experience developing trainings and teaching related to disability topics and/or digital accessibility is preferred.
