Job Description
Organization Overview:

We are partnering with a family office who is seeking a CFO. They oversee a diverse portfolio of holdings, encompassing ranching operations, solar maintenance company, a non-profit organization and the management of two-family trusts. Our operations span from traditional ranching activities and innovative solar maintenance solutions to philanthropic endeavors and trust management, reflecting their commitment to both tradition and progress.
Role Overview:

The CFO will play a critical role in managing the family office's financial health and strategy and its entities. This position offers the unique opportunity to oversee various financial activities across sectors, including ranching, renewable energy maintenance, nonprofit operations, and trust management. Reporting directly to the executive leadership, the CFO will be instrumental in ensuring the family office's efficient financial management and strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and oversee the financial planning and budgeting process for all entities.
  • Manage invoicing, collections, and payments to vendors across all operations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely bookkeeping and tax preparation for each entity.
  • Maintain up-to-date corporate records and compliance documentation.
  • Prepare and present basic summaries of investment holdings and financial positions.
  • Implement and refine financial and operational systems, processes, and controls to support the office's growth.
  • Serve as a financial advisor to the executive team, contributing to strategic decision-making.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • A seasoned leader with 5-10 years of broad finance experience, ideally gained in startup environments or small businesses.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field is required.
  • Professional certification such as CPA or CMA; an MBA is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record as a business partner to the chief executive, with finance, accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop financial policies, procedures, and operational models that align with strategic goals.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with a collaborative and flexible working style.
  • Integrity, proactive approach, and commitment to lifelong learning.
  • Effective communicator with notable oral and written skills.
