Cayuga Centers is hiring immediately for a Vice President of Clinical Practice (ACS EFFC, Article 31 Clinic, UC program)

Earn $110,000-130,000 annually

Location: New York, NY

About the Program and Position:

Cayuga Centers provides a trauma informed, socio ecological approach to behavioral health services, in a number of states, for youth in foster care and or youth and families engaged in behavioral health services in the home, school and/or community. Our behavioral health services programming strives to support youth and families with complex, severe and chronic issues resulting from exposure to and the negative effects of trauma. Cayuga Centers has been a leader in the implementation of evidenced-based, clinical treatment models such as Family Functional Therapy and Multisystemic Therapy and seeks to incorporate evidence-based/informed trauma treatment models to effectively meet the needs of the most vulnerable youth and families in the most underserved communities.

Cayuga Centers currently seeks a Vice President of Clinical Practice to fill a senior leadership role in the effective implementation of quality behavioral health services across different programs in New York and other states.

How you get to use your Skills…

Behavioral Health Services Leadership:

  • Serve as the clinical supervisor/consultant member of the Child Welfare and Mental Health Leadership Council providing clinical oversight of the ACS EFFC and MHOTRS programs in accordance with OCFS and OMH regulations and mandates.

  • In collaboration with the Deputy of Behavioral Health Services and CQI departments, provide oversight of the development and quality of clinical services’ delivery in behavioral health programming offered in New York City.

  • Collaborate with treatment team leaders (medical, mental health, education, behavioral support, etc.) in supporting youth in foster care in New York State to develop systemic procedures and oversee their implementation in behavioral and psychiatric crises. Responsible for dissemination and implementation of SI/HI Standard of Practice and On Call Clinical procedures.

  • Develop and maintain a collaborative relationship with stakeholders, referral sources, and community resources and providers

  • Participate in weekly leadership meetings and monthly departmental/ stakeholder meetings

Clinical/Administrative Supervision & Training:

  • Responsible for continuous improvement of program components including but not limited to policy and procedures, billing, and maximizing efficiency, productivity and a work-life balance.

  • Provide individual and group clinical supervision to clinicians

  • Oversee initial Mental Health Assessments, treatment planning and delivery completed by the OLHRS-CFTSS OLP Clinicians in the EFFC program and MHOTRS program.

  • Oversee delivery of in-house psychological testing, dissemination of results and findings, and implementations of recommendations

  • Ensure timely critical incident & psychiatric hospitalization notifications to ACS and other stakeholders.

  • Through ongoing collaboration with Cayuga’s training department and program leadership, develop, review and implement clinically relevant trainings to clinical and non-clinical staff

Other Responsibilities:

  • Train, support and supervise team of Assistant Director and three Community Psychiatric Supports and Treatment (CPST) service providers to work in collaboration with OLHRS-CFTSS OLP Clinicians to support the generalization of learned coping and behavioral skills in the community. (both for foster care and community youth).

  • Responsible for members of clinical teams across programs providing support and collaboration with foster parents and birth parents. Ensure client-centered and culturally sensitive practice

  • Promotes that all staff work well with people from many cultures including recent immigrants, non-English speakers, and LGBTQ children

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Experience:

  • LCSW or licensed psychologist

  • Five years of postgraduate direct service delivery experience - required

  • Five years of experience in managing a program - particularly a foster care program - required

  • Five years of experience supervising staff - particularly staff who supervise others - required

  • Familiarity with ACS, OCFS, OPWDD, OMH, and other relevant municipal and state agencies.

  • Ability to teach competencies providing assessment and interventions to children with a history of trauma, depression, and anxiety

  • Strong communication, collaboration and team building skills

  • Ability to maintain professionalism in all areas, including confidentiality

  • Ability to work well with people from many cultures including recent immigrants, non-English speakers, and LGBTQ youth

  • Valid NYS Driver’s License required

  • Ability to travel to other agency locations as required

Schedule: Exempt

  • Regular hours entail 9:00 am-5:00 pm, Monday - Friday

  • Evenings and weekends may be required

  • Must be able to flex schedule to meet program needs

  • On call required
