Job Title: Cardiovascular Monitoring Technician (CMT)
Reports To: Nurse Manager/Clinical Coordinator, Supervisors, Nurse Director
Job Summary: The Cardiovascular Monitoring Technician will be an active member of the CHI Team performing duties within their scope of practice including performing EKGs, vital signs, personal care, gathering of equipment, transport of patients and record keeping. The CMT will also be responsible for the monitoring of cardiac catheterizations, holter monitor placement and blood pressure monitor placement. STEMI call is a requirement.
Job Responsibilities:
1 Performs EKG's accurately and in timely manner. |
2 Demonstrates ability to communicate in a clear and respectful fashion with both patients and teammates. Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions of the patient to RN. |
3 Maintains aseptic technique as necessary when assisting in labs. |
4 Monitors and records vital signs as necessary. |
5 Reports equipment failure to CHI leadership. |
6 Accurately places holter monitors, then reviews and analyzes holter monitor information for quality and artifact. |
7 Properly documents Cath Lab/Interventional procedures and reviews, prints and creates discs of cardiac reports as needed. |
8 Accurately documents patient changes, hemodynamic data and procedural protocols utilizing documentation tools (hemodynamic monitoring system) when appropriate. |
9 Has ability to be flexible in assisting both patients and teammates as needed. |
10 Performs other tasks within scope of practice as needed by department. |

- Education: =/>18 years of age, GED or HS diploma
- Experience: Previous EMS/patient care experience preferred
- Licensure: not required
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 lbs., tolerate repetitive motion
