About the Program and Position:
Our Transitional Foster Care Program for Unaccompanied Children (UC) overseen by the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), ensures the well-being and safety of unaccompanied children (ages 0-17) who cross the US Southern border without an adult. Unlike traditional congregate care settings, our approach involves placing unaccompanied children in foster homes while diligently searching for and assessing potential sponsors identified in the US. During their stay with us, we provide medical care, case management, engaging life skills classes, and essential mental health services.
Our Pediatric Nurse Practitioners play a crucial role in assessing and ensuring the health & well-being of our unaccompanied children who are trying to establish a new home in the United States. Our Pediatric Nurse Practitioners support and initially treat any medical needs required by the children in our program. They must work collaboratively with other team members involved in the child's care to provide appropriate services.

Social & Legal Services
For over 165 years, we have been there for children and families Children need families, and families sometimes need support. Cayuga Centers is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring children have a safe, loving home. We work to keep families together, and unite those who have been divided. That might mean a temporary foster stay while problems at home are resolved. In the case of unaccompanied migrant children, it means providing a foster home during the process of identifying a parent or sponsor, and doing everything possible to ensure a speedy and safe return. We also provide medica...l and psychological support, advocacy, learning and cultural enrichment. Weve come a long way since our founding as a home for destitute children in 1852. But weve never lost sight of our mission: to help children and families, whatever their circumstances.
