About the Department:

Cayuga Center’s Human Resources Department has 22 staff, including Recruiters, Benefits Administrators, Specialists, Generalists, and Assistants based in New York City or Auburn, NY.

Cayuga Centers seeks a dedicated individual for the Recruitment Specialist role. The Recruitment Specialist provides support to the daily recruiting functions of the Human Resources department, including advertisement of job vacancies, screening applicants, and conducting phone interviews. The Recruitment Specialist will also assist in onboarding new hires, developing and executing recruiting plans, networking through industry contacts and association memberships, and coordinating administrative and recordkeeping duties of the Recruiting team. Candidates will use various job boards, social media platforms, and other services and/or partnerships to identify suitable applicants.

How You Will Use Your Skills:

  • Utilize a variety of job boards, social media platforms, and other services and/or partnerships to identify suitable candidates
  • Build candidate sources by researching, contacting and building relationships with community services, colleges, employment agencies, social media, and internet sites
  • Post and fill open positions using an applicant tracking system (ATS), external sources and internal bidding processes
  • Conduct pre-screening interviews for assigned positions
  • Arrange both in-person and virtual interviews by coordinating calendars for management and candidates
  • Conduct regular follow-ups with team members to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans
  • Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting
  • Develop a pool of candidates in advance of agency needs
  • Maintain all pertinent applicant and interview data in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS)
  • Assist in performing reference checks for potential employees
  • Assists with analyzing the performance of recruitment agencies, the cost per hire, and time to hire and recommends changes and improvements
  • Assist with troubleshooting the recruitment software
  • Keeps the documentation of the recruitment process up to date

Schedule:

  • Non-Exempt
  • Regular hours entail Monday - Friday, 8am-4 pm or 9 am-5 pm
  • Must be flexible to meet agency needs
Experience and Skills:
  • Associate's degree in human resources & 2 years’ recruiting experience required. Bachelor’s degree preferred with minimum 1-year recruiting experience

  • Effective communications skills for interacting with executives, middle-level managers, employees, job applicants and the general public
  • Strong knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Working knowledge of web-based HRIS or equivalent systems is required
  • Strong communication, human relation, and organizational skills - required
  • Ability to work effectively in a team context
  • Demonstrated ability to perform duties with minimal supervision and to exercise greater judgment
  • NYS Driver’s License preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Word processing: Including responding to emails, composing letters, completing computerized documentation, system etc.:

  • This involves sitting at a computer for several hours
  • Completing paperwork -Such as copying, scanning, and faxing documents
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
