The Prevention Program of Community Maternity Services is seeking a Social Worker to work on our Clinical Prevention Team. The Social Worker will work with families in Albany County with children at ris of foster care placement. The Social Worker will provide assessment, treatment planning, case management and home-based counseling for 15 families whose children are either at risk of foster care placement or in foster care and planning to return home.
Requirements for this position include miimally an MSW degree, 1-year experience working in the child welfare field with children and families, knowlledge of/ability to complete thorough psychosocial assessments, strong oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, computer skills, LMSW/LCSW and Clinical experience working with families preferred.
Applicants must have a valid NYS driver's license and car in good working condition, be physically able to go u and down stairs, carry a child of 40 lbs., be able to sit/stand for extended periods of time and demonstrate a full range of motion.
This is a full-time position and requires flexible scheduling. On-call responsibilities apply.
