Cates Control Systems is Hiring a Project Manager Near Plano, TX

Description

As a Project Manager, you will manage assigned projects to completion within an agreed schedule and budget. Joining the Cates team is both challenging and rewarding. The Role:

  • Manages project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Responsible for overall success and profitability of project deliverables and customer satisfaction
  • Evaluates project risks and develops risk mitigation plans
  • Conducts kick off meetings and project status meetings with the project team and customer
  • Works with SMEs to develop detailed project plans, schedules, and cost estimates
  • Works with customer to manage scope and overall expectations
  • Coordinates activities between sales, engineering, fabrication, subcontractors, and customer
  • Tracks work against the project plan and other project baselines
  • Ensures that team members provide updated tasks status and timekeeping information as required
  • Tracks and resolves issues within the PM 's span of control while raising other issues to management/customer for resolution as appropriate.
  • Manages change using defined change control procedures
  • Issues weekly performance reports and status reports to identified stakeholders
  • Facilitates status meetings with customer, team, and management
  • Acquires formal submittal approvals for design documents, functional specifications, and scope deviations.
  • Ensures the quality of project deliverables have been thoroughly reviewed and tested.
  • Coordinates installation, testing, and start-up activities at the customer site
  • Ensures formal acceptance of scope items and final customer acceptance
  • Identifies lessons learned for later process improvement.
  • Reviews sales estimated quotes for scope and pricing accuracy.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • BS Degree in Engineering/Technology - Automation Controls preferred
  • 3-5 years demonstrated Project Management experience leading multi-discipline projects in Engineering (Control System Automation preferred)
  • Expert level using MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Expert level proficiency using MS Project in developing and tracking detailed project schedules.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build high performance teams of diverse individuals
  • Excellent customer service skills with a proven record of high client satisfaction
  • Effective time and schedule management skills with a problem-solving attitude

Preferred Requirements / Certifications:

  • PMP Certification
