Catbird, a Brooklyn based DTC jewelry brand, is looking for a Merchandise Assistant or Coordinator to support merchandising and planning for our in-house and third party designer jewelry, home, gifts and beauty. The ideal candidate will be able to work with a large, diverse product catalog and vendor matrix in a fast-paced dynamic environment. This position is hybrid and full-time, based out of our Brooklyn Navy Yard HQ.

Key Responsibilities

• Track and manage incoming receipts and invoices
• Partner with Web Warehouse, B M Inventory and Studio teams on open order fulfillment, pull requests, stock discrepancies
• Administer transfer orders
• Prepare regular reports and assist with ad-hoc reporting
• Assist with vendor communication re product, pricing, lead times, production issues
• Update product catalog; compile and distribute product knowledge sheets
• Administer and edit stock POs 
• Support the Special Order business: identify SO needs; place POs; work with Studio, vendors, Retail and Customer Service on delivering orders in a timely manner
• E-commerce product photography: coordinate with Art, Merchandising, Studio and vendors on sample needs and shoot dates
• Assist with building and maintenance of product listings, site categories, and gift guides
• Provide support for department initiatives and projects as necessary

• 1-2 years in merchandising, buying and/or planning
• Adept at learning new platforms and systems.
• Excel and Google Sheets proficiency required
• Detail-oriented
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Flexible and open to shifts in business, strategy, process, and responsibilities; ability to multitask and prioritize
• Willingness to work overtime as necessary
• Team player: proactive, positive and supportive approach to getting the job done
