Casper is looking for an Accounts Payable Manager to join our Finance team in our New York City HQ. Along with managing ongoing AP processes, the Accounts Payable Manager will be responsible for taking the lead on developing and evolving our AP systems and processes to ensure that they are efficient and scalable as our business continues to grow. This person will lead a team of two people and will report to the VP Global Controller.

When youʼre not catching zzzʼs, this is what youʼll do...

Vendor-related

• Procure to Pay Automation – help to improve the current process
• Accurately enter and review invoices into ERP
• Monitor status of purchase orders and invoices in the PO and A/P modules
• Ensure that invoices are approved in accordance with company policy and are correctly coded using the company’s chart of accounts
• Ensure critical vendors are paid on a timely basis and that all available vendor discounts are taken
• Add new vendors in compliance with the company’s policy and regular reconciliation of vendor accounts and communication regarding status
• Manage the approval workflow in the PO and A/P modules

Employee-related

• Monitor status of T&E reports in the T&E application
• Perform final review of all T&E reports to ensure conformity with the T&E policy
• Conduct administrative functions in the T&E application in coordination with the Controller

Other

• Participate in month end close meetings
• Communicate regularly with sponsors, third party advisors, as well as other members of the finance team regarding compliance reporting and vendor reconciliation
• Manage the coding and payment of all purchasing cards and company credit cards
• Coordinate with the GL and Manufacturing accountants during the monthly close process
• Recommend best practices, considering automation and process improvements
• Assist with implementation of Procurement policy and tools as related to Concur/JDE purchasing
• Respond to all A/P-related inquiries
• Prepare and disburse all 1099s
• Coordinate tax filings with accountants and Controller
• Support annual financial statement audit process

Our dream candidate is/has: 

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5-7 years of accounts payable experience, including 3-4 years as an accounts payable manager
• 3-4 years managing the T&E process utilizing a web-based T&E application (e.g. Concur, etc.)
• Strong people leadership capabilities
• Willingness to extend themselves and assist other people
• Strong understanding of financial controls around Purchasing and A/P
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
• Proficient with Excel
• This is a hybrid role, requiring that you work 2 days per week (Tuesdays and Wednesdays) from our spacious 3 World Trade Center office.

Nice-to-have:

• Prior start-up experience
• JDE Enterprise and Concur experience
• Experience with an E-commerce and/or manufacturing entity
• Experience with system implementations
• Exposure to large ERP systems

Targeted Annual Base Salary Range: $110,000-125,000 USD

Casper’s compensation philosophy ensures that the actual base salary is based on factors including but not limited to skills, education, experience, special training, time in position, and/or years of service.
