Wage band range $66,560.00 - $75,000.00 annually. However, starting pay is ultimately determined by the scope of the position, the candidate's relevant experience, and internal equity. Position is eligible for Bilingual pay incentive. 

Position is eligible for $7,500 Sign-On Bonus!! Paid at 90-day, 6-months, and 1-year of active service.

Under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor/Lead, is responsible for providing and implementing the clinical therapy component of the overall treatment plan. Clinician I will manage cases of assigned clients within their assigned program. The Clinician I is responsible for carrying out the mission of Casa Pacifica as it relates to on-going clinical assessment, evaluation and progress of the youth within Casa Pacifica.

CREDENTIALS: Must be eligible to register with BBS/APA as APCC, AMFT, ASW, or MFTI.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (illustrated by typical activities):

  • Assesses the clinical needs of the youth, develops a treatment plan, makes referrals to needed resources and creates a discharge plan for assigned clients.
  • Provides clinical services such as individual, collateral, rehabilitation, parenting skills training, and case management as appropriate to the individual needs of the youth.
  • Evaluates the changing mental health needs of the youth and makes adjustments accordingly.
  • Utilizes evidenced based practices that are appropriate to meet the clinical needs of the youth and family.
  • Collaborates with youth development specialists, education staff, health clinic staff, parent partners, youth advocates, families and youth to provide comprehensive clinical care for the youth and to ensure program consistency and continuity throughout the day.
  • Acts as liaison with placement agencies and community services and works closely with mental health and child protective services, as well as law enforcement agencies, schools, employers, health and welfare, and recreation agencies to provide coordinated care.
  • Confers with the Director of Education/teaching staff regarding the behavioral or learning problems of youth and recommends methods of modifying inappropriate behavior and encouraging learning experiences.
  • Confers with parents regarding school and facility activities, policies, and procedures as needed and appropriate.
  • Serves as the leader of a youth/family treatment team. In conjunction with the team, develops and implements individual clinical treatment plans and assures the integration of the clinical component within the milieu using multi-disciplinary approach.
  • Responsible for maintaining an organized and up-to-date clinical chart according to DMH guidelines. Prepares regular progress reports on each client; prepares additional correspondence related to caseload as required. Documents progress notes on electronic health record.
  • Aids authorities to plan for the discharge arrangements of the child.
  • Utilizes community resources in providing services for youth.
  • Assists youth transitioning into the community and links them to appropriate community resources, including referrals for transition aged youth to the CITY (Coaching Independence to Transitional Youth) program, substance abuse programs, Wraparound, and Therapeutic Behavior Services, when appropriate.
  • Assists in program development and staff training to ensure the milieu is therapeutic.
  • For Clinicians in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy program: adhere to the PCIT protocol. PCIT clinicians provide clinical input and collaborate and train In Home Specialists.
  • Attends outside training events and conferences as requested.
  • Maintains compliance with all local, County, State, and Federal government regulations to include Title 22, Division 6, and prepares reports required by regulatory agencies.
  • Maintains confidentiality in all matters within the organization with respect to personnel, operations and clients.
  • May perform other duties as assigned from time to time.


Position requires staff must be at least 21 years of age. Completed and cleared Livescan, criminal statement, health screening with TB test. Must undergo a one-hour training which reviews mandatory reporting requirements as per Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA). This training takes place during pre-service orientation training and periodically thereafter.

Valid driver’s license is required for transporting youths. Any changes that occurs on your driving record must be reported immediately to your supervisor.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Masters level, registered with the BBS/APA with up to 3 years of experience working with severely emotionally disturbed youth doing family assessments and treatment, and behavior management; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
