    JOB GOAL
    To build student success in English Language Arts by providing Tier II and Tier III student interventions focused on achieving grade-level proficiency on Arizona’s English Language Proficiency Standards and proficiency on the state language assessment (AZELLA).
    QUALIFICATIONS
    • Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate
    • A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience with excellent evaluations
    • Holds a SEI (Structured English Immersion) Certification, ESL (English as a Second Language) Certification, a Bilingual Endorsement or is willing to obtain one within one year of hire date
    • Demonstrates ability to reclassify a higher-than-average percentage of students on the state AZELLA language proficiency assessment, as evidenced by state data
    • Demonstrates proficiency in teaching English Language Learners as evidenced by principal’s evaluations and student achievement
    • Demonstrates knowledge of Arizona English Language Proficiency Standards and instructional materials
    • Demonstrates knowledge of and works effectively in a professional learning community
    • Demonstrates knowledge of and works effectively with site administration and is able to take direction
    • Demonstrates knowledge of curriculum, instruction and assessment as they relate to each other and influence student achievement
    • Evidence of leadership in delivery of professional development for teachers and administrators.
    • Evidence of independent decision-making skills.
    • Evidence of problem-solving ability.
    • Views self as a learner and seeks professional challenges and demonstrates initiative
    • Demonstrates professional development skills and works effectively with adults.
    • Demonstrates ability in working with diverse populations (ELL, Special Education, Gifted)

    • Models systematic reading instruction that is aligned to scientifically based English Language Arts research (Tier I) and Tier II/III student intervention for all teachers and students
    • Willingness to perform up to the highest measure of competence.
    • Understands and interprets assessment data, both formal and informal, to inform instructional decisions
    • Collaborates with teachers (mainstream, ELL, Special Education, Gifted) to support ELL interventions
    • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Develop a trusting and reflective professional partnership with school leadership teams
    • Provide on-site support to school leadership teams/building principal
    • Demonstrates and models first best instruction and interventions
    • Provides District-wide professional development as directed
    • Assist and support schools in developing school site intervention plan
    • Plan, participate in, facilitate support and training activities for ELD (English Language Development) program initiatives
    • Supports the site’s Integrated Action Plan and MTSS model
    • Plans district parent liaison training that pertain to ELD program initiatives and attends Parent-Teacher conferences, as needed
    • Comply with District, state, and federal reporting processes.
    • Continues professional growth through participation in educational meetings and defined professional growth opportunities, reading professional literature, and exchanging ideas with colleagues
    • Continues professional development in the area of research-based exemplary practices in curriculum, instruction and assessment
    • Collaborates with district, school administrators, school leaders and school Specialists to provide support for intervention and ELD program initiatives
    • Positions in this class typically require stooping, reaching, pulling, lifting, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions
    • Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
    • Performs other work-related duties as assigned
