Construction Inspector – Part Time

Position Type: Part Time – Chester, Northampton or Montgomery, PA Counties

Department: Construction Observation

Requirements: Education Level: High School Graduate; 2 years’ inspection experience, ACI and/or NICET (preferred); Candidates with supervisory and/or journeyman experience in the construction trades will also be considered.

Position Description: Part time position available in the Construction Observation Department working in Bucks, Montgomery, Chester and Northampton counties in Pennsylvania. Responsibilities include inspection of municipal projects which include roadways, curbs, sidewalk, storm sewer, detention basins, soil and erosion control measures, water mains, sanitary sewers, and pump stations.

Key Responsibilities: Monitoring and documentation of daily construction activity, equipment and manpower; verification of conformance of materials and equipment with approved shop drawing submittals; oversight of contractor startup and testing activities; monitoring of work performance and documentation of variances from established schedules; evaluation of contractor payment requests; and, maintenance of changes to record documents and assistance with the preparation of “as built” drawings.
