Carroll County Memorial Hospital is Hiring a Director of 4 Corners Cafe Near Carrollton, MO

The Nutrition Services Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all food/nutritional services are delivered in a manner consistent with the hospital’s mission, vision, and ICARE values. The supervisor is responsible to directly supervise and coordinate activities of staff members engaged in the planning, preparation, and service of food to patients, staff, guests, and patrons of the hospital’s café.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Monitor food preparation methods, portion sizes, garnish, and presentation of food to ensure food is prepared, presented, and served to meet all dietary requirements, food safety guidelines, and quality standards; supervise and participate in kitchen and dining area cleaning activities.

Must be able to perform the essential job functions of all positions within the department to train and develop staff members and provide coverage when needed; must be able to work any shift as needed or directed to maintain all food service operations.

Collaborate and communicate with the hospital’s Registered Dietician, department director, staff, and hospital leadership to achieve established goals as they relate to patient/guest satisfaction, outcomes, quality, productivity, and financial performance.

Assist with planning, preparing, and posting scheduled work hours for nutritional staff members in accordance with the hospital’s food service demands; assign and delegate duties as appropriate; establish standards for performance and customer service; maintain food and labor costs within budget requirements.

Participates in the selection, orientation, training, development, and evaluation of staff members; monitors staff performance; recognizes staff members for meeting or exceeding performance standards; provides performance coaching and/or counseling as appropriate in accordance with hospital policy.

Regularly communicates with staff members; seeks and provides feedback, addresses all concerns in a timely manner.

Work with hospital departments and leadership to plan menus and provide special foods for parties and/or other scheduled programs.

Assists with ensuring all supplies, materials, and equipment inventories are maintained at appropriate levels to meet the demands of patient care, staff/guest services, safety, utilization, and financial goals. Develop and maintain par levels for inventory items.

Responsible to perform and/or supervise food and equipment orders, deliveries, and storage; rotates stock using First In First Out (FIFO); monitor and track product expiration or use by dates as assigned.

Monitor and evaluate processes and workflows; provides recommendations to optimize performance/outcomes; works with nutritional services team and hospital leadership to implement recommended strategies.

Ensure all established policies, procedures, quality and food safety standards, and conduct guidelines are followed in accordance with all applicable rules, regulations, and hospital policy.

Assist other department personnel as necessary; performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

High School Diploma or Equivalent

1-2 years of previous Food Service supervision/leadership experience required; Healthcare experience preferred

Ability to foster a positive team atmosphere through effective interpersonal skills

Able to effectively communicate both verbal and written format

Ability to use multiple electronic systems, software, internet, and computer skills
