Description
As a Maintenance Technician you may be required to perform tasks involved in the upkeep of the building and grounds, installation, maintenance, maintaining and repairing of hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, mechanical, and electrical systems on all production machines, equipment, and building. Ensure increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction while helping to improve the efficiency of machines by minimizing downtime. The incumbent is expected to be a self-starter, a good manager of time, work independently and follow Carris Reels standards for safety and conduct.
Requirements
- Mechanical aptitude
- Basics of Hydraulics and Pneumatics
- PLC a plus
- Common sense and ability to use judgment and make decisions.
- Overtime Required
- Work Saturdays and evenings as needed.
SAFETY AND MAINTENANCE:
- Must wear all required PPE properly.
- Conduct yourself in a safe manner.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Clean assigned areas of the building or equipment as instructed by your supervisor.
Duties:
- Conduct troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and plant facilities.
- Provide emergency or unscheduled repairs of production equipment.
- Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust equipment for efficient and safe operation.
- Perform mechanical skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, plumbing, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair on production and packaging machines and use a variety of maintenance tools.
- Coordinate and install new equipment as necessary and work with other technical support to ensure proper procedures/operation.
- Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules and Carris Reels safety program, including responsibility for hazardous waste records and disposal.
- Maintain spare parts and maintenance supplies, including ordering and receiving from vendors.
- Maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Troubleshoot and test machinery.
- Performs minor electrical work not requiring a licensed electrician such as replacing light bulbs and fuses.
- Assists in minor carpentry and repair work.
- Maintain machinery, equipment, and tools by cleaning, lubricating, greasing, and/or oiling to ensure optimum working order.
