Staff Auditor – MN, WI

We are currently seeking Staff Auditor candidates responsible for learning processes and systems, assisting with planning and facilitating engagements and working as part of a team to carry out tasks under close supervision. An individual in this role will continue to learn, understand, and effectively use current accounting software applications when assisting with engagements. This person is expected to grow and develop to a point that he/she can demonstrate a solid understanding of accounting and auditing principles, quality control standards and technology implementation procedures. What type of work would you do:

  • Learn the planning process and assist in planning and facilitating multiple assignments
  • Assist with facilitating engagements to meet budget and client expectations
  • Provide exceptional service to clients by providing individual attention, responsiveness, and commitment to understanding their goals and needs

  • Build and strengthen co-worker and client relationships through effective communication and an understanding of relevant audit and accounting standards; Advise on concerns and relevant industry pronouncements
  • Learn and develop a good understanding of client businesses
  • Exhibit solid understanding of accounting and auditing principles, ensure quality control standards are met, and apply technology implementation procedures relative to individual client assignments
  • Identify and communicate audit issues, technical matters and improvement opportunities to senior accountants, managers and/or partners to resolve client issues discovered during the audit process
  • Demonstrate technical skills, general industry knowledge and knowledge of the firm’s capabilities
  • Maintain and comply with the highest degree of professional standards, client confidentiality and personal conduct
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with client’s staff to increase customer satisfaction and to strengthen client relationships
  • Prepare work papers, reports, financial statement drafts and letters of recommendations in accordance to firm and professional standards
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

You are the right fit if:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) year of similar accounting/auditing or administrative support experience in a financial or CPA organization
  • Strong technical, analytical and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Excel and Word
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of organization, focus, and exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to travel locally to clients

 In addition, we would strongly prefer if you already have these added skills:

  • Associates or BA/BS degree in Accounting or related field
  • Prior work experience in accounting/audit in a CPA firm
  • CPA license or in process to obtain CPA license
  • Customer-service oriented, demonstrated by the following attributes: proactive, observant, knowledgeable and reliable
  • Previous experience or ability to act as in-charge on audit engagements

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds, stand or sit for extended periods of time, as well as type/enter data at a keyboard regularly
