Responsibilities

  • Effectively using medical classification software to assign procedure and diagnosis codes for insurance billing.
  • Reviewing claims to verify that information is accurate and complete.
  • Submitting claims to insurance companies ensuring all data is accurate and complete.
  • Staying up-to-date with coding requirements and HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborating with the billing department to ensure all invoices are received and paid in a timely manner.
  • Resolving patient complaints and insurance company disputes.
  • Keeping track of patient data over multiple visits and managing detailed, specifically-coded information.
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and information security.

Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of health record systems and insurance processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A proven ability to manage detailed, highly specific (yet often ambiguous) information.
  • High levels of organization, responsibility, and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Proof of COVID vaccination
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 18 years old and above
